Effective with Exotic litters born after April 15, 2009, only shorthair Exotic to shorthair Exotic, shorthair Exotic to longhair Exotic, and shorthair Exotic to Persian will be permitted.
Longhair Exotic to longhair Exotic, and longhair Exotic to Persian matings will not be registerable for litters born after April 15, 2009.
All breeding within FIFe is subject to having animals tested for disease affecting the breed if one is available.
All Exotics registered with the GCCF from 1st January 2016 may be registered on the Active Register, at the breeder’s request, only if:
1. They themselves have been genetically tested as normal (clear) for PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease)
2. Both parents have been tested normal (clear). They are from parents deemed normal (clear) because of the results from testing (as in 1) of cats on every pedigree line in previous generations. Pedigree line in this case refers to both parents, or 4 grandparents, 8 great-grandparents, 16 great-great-grandparents and so on, or any combination of the same which is inclusive of the ancestors of both the sire and dam.
Any cat imported into the UK must be tested negative for PRA before it can be registered on the Active Register.
Any red or cream, red and white, cream, and white, red pointed or cream pointed cat with one or more tabby parent will be registered as a tabby unless shown by DNA testing not to be a tabby.
Before the registration of any White Exotic on the Active Register, a BAER certificate of freedom from deafness for the cat must be supplied to the GCCF.
Others as per Registration Policy.

Special notes
Longhair Exotics that meet Persian colour descriptions are eligible to compete in Persian colour classes. These cats are identified by a registration prefix. A long-hair division for Exotics was created for scoring purposes only and national/regional points accumulated by longhair Exotics shown in Persian colour classes will count towards longhair Exotic breed and colour class wins, not towards Persian wins.
