Kingsley Schmidtke
Australian Cat FederationI have been involved in The Cat Fancy since 1980, showing my first Burmese whilst starting High School. It wasn’t long until my involvement included running annual shows, stewarding and being active in a variety of cat clubs, whilst doing my HSC. In 1998 I obtained my OFS Judging licence, followed soon after with my BFM in 2002, to complete the national Group 3 class.
Having bred Burmese, British, Scottish folds and owned by two Turkish Vans, I retired from breeding in 1999.
In 2022 I extended my Judging Licence to include the beautiful Group 1 Breeds and I’m currently undertaking my Group 2 course with GCCFSA.
I feel lucky that I have the privilege of sharing my love of felines with other likeminded people and the friendships I have from all over the world."
I was elected as the Australian Cat Federations (ACF) Vice President at the Annual General Meeting in July 2025. I look forward to meeting and collaborating with fellow delegates.

I am currently living in NSW Australia. My interest in Norwegian Forest Cats began in 1996 when I first ventured on to the GCCF show bench helping some friends. It was good training for me getting to learn about these beautiful cats before being in the privileged position of being owned by one in 1997.

Pam Delabar
Cat Fanciers' AssociationMy involvement in CFA started over 50 years ago when I got my first CFA registered cat in 1975, a Himalayan (at that time, a breed separate from Persians). I fell in love with Lynx (Tabby) Colourpoint Shorthairs at my very first show and worked on establishing a Siamese breeding program to work with the Colourpoint Shorthairs. I was fortunate to have bred GRC, NW, BW Sapad Mme Charlotte H., D.M (I think Charlotte was my Siamese alter ego) under my Sapad cattery name; GRC, BW, RW Alsace V. Lestat was my most memorable Colourpoint Shorthair bred under my Alsace cattery name. My “heart cat” was GRC Alsace Armstrong, my Maine Coon male, who loved his “pick me up and love me” moments.
I have bred Siamese/Colourpoint Shorthairs, Oriental Shorthairs, Persians, Singapuras, Maine Coon Cats, Manx, and am currently working with Norwegian Forest Cats and occasionally American Curls.
Accepted in 1990, I have been judging for the Cat Fanciers’ Association for over 35 years and have been fortunate to have judged on every continent where cat shows are held and for almost all the members of the World Cat Congress and several other independent organizations. First elected in 1986, I have served as regional director for the CFA Gulf Shore Region and the European Region of CFA, a director at large, vice president and president of CFA, with over 34 years of service on the CFA Board of Directors. I currently am also on the board of directors for the CFA Foundation, which was formed to preserve, and display, artifacts displaying the history of cats throughout the ages.
Additionally, I served 6 years as president of the World Cat Congress, overseeing the largest expansion of the organization since its inception. Though originally from the United States, I moved to Finland in 2011. My professional career encompassed 24 years in the US Army, retiring in 1993 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Johan van Rooyen
Southern African Cat CouncilThroughout my professional career, I worked in procurement, with my final position before retirement being a Material Release Planner at Nissan South Africa.
My love for cats began in childhood, as my family always had cats—Siamese being their preferred breed. In my early twenties, I was introduced to Burmese cats and was privileged to own several neuters before beginning to breed Burmese in 1998, co-owning Zion Cattery. A highlight of this journey was breeding the first lilac Burmese to achieve the title of Supreme Champion in South Africa.
Since the 1990s, I have served on various club and breed group committees and continue to serve on the Rand Cat Club committee. Following my retirement, I was offered the role of Assistant Registrar for SACC in 1999 and, in 2003, became the Registrar and Office Manager—a role I proudly continue to hold today. I also had the honour of representing SACC as a delegate to the WCC in both 2023 and 2025.
Over the years, I have witnessed significant changes in the cat fancy, both locally and internationally. Despite these changes, I firmly believe that pedigrees issued by recognised registration organisations must be authentic and credible. This belief underpins our mission to promote pedigreed cats globally. It remains a source of pride for me every day when I sign and certify a pedigree, knowing I am contributing to the integrity and future of the cat fancy.
