| Breeding restrictions |
|
Non-silver progeny of silver cats may not be exhibited, except as part of a litter containing at least 1 silver kitten, and may only be used for breeding with silver cats.
They are designated as ‘silver Bengal variants’.
No blue dilute (dd) Bengal of any colour is recognised: should such a kitten appear in a litter it may not be registered, bred from or exhibited even as part of a litter.
The parents of the litter, and all subsequent progeny of either parent to have their pedigree certificates marked as carriers/potential carriers of the unwanted gene. |
|
Novice* cats are not permitted.
Cross-breeding with Bengals is not permitted.
Bengals of generations F1–F4 are not allowed for breeding.
*A novice is a cat without registration papers which may be shown in a special class in order to gain breed recognition |
F4, F5 and F6 Bengals are registered of the Supplementary Register.
F7 Bengals and subsequent generations are registered on the full Register
Bengal x Asian leopard Cat F1 Hybrid cats of Bengal Type, F2 cats of Bengal Type and F3 cats of Bengal Type are no longer able to be registered.
Longhaired and non-agouti kittens produced from Bengal x Bengal matings are not able to be registered as Bengals. |
Most breeders enforce some breeding restrictions for the well being of the breed. |
|
|
|
| Special notes |
Only F4 + allowed into Australia. |
